First, news of the wall. The cement structures on which the big gates will hang in the front and back end of the wall and the farm store need to cure for three months before the gates can be installed, according to the contractor. Christine and the guards pour water on the new concrete several times a day to prevent cracking. The compound has two armed guards on duty 24 hours a day, so the valuable big steel gates, which have been welded by the contractor at the AWE site using a generator for power, will be safe even though not in place. By November or December, the compound will be completely closed off. NOTE: Funds for building the wall were donated by John Cook. I am reporting them here because completing them for security of a storehouse contractor’s equipment etc is essential before building could take place. There was no money in the grant funds to build a wall.
