Although the Rotary International Global Grant authorized funds to build a grain storehouse in the AWE compound, the contractor did not do the job properly. In addition to other flaws, nails were used to construct the roof, which caused leaks. Before the women farmers can use the storehouse for the grain they are currently harvesting, the entire roof needs to be replaced. Rotary International is apparently not able to address this problem, so Christine has secured another contractor, trusted by her, to make the repairs.
Please consider donating funds to make the warehouse usable. After AWE has a functioning storehouse, they will become self-sustaining, able to sell their crops in the off-season to make a profit, prevent starvation, and re-invest in their community.
